FESSH 2026 update and a special announcment!
16 June 2026
What a fantastic week at FESSH 2026 in Basel. Many congratulations to Phillip Honningmann, Esther Vogelin and the entire FESSH 2026 team for such a magnificent conference.
From the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, nearly 200 members attended the congress, contributing across the scientific programme as speakers, moderators, instructors, panellists, and session chairs. We are incredibly proud of Zaf Naqui who took over the reins of FESSH Presidency from 2026 to 2029.

The week concluded with the announcement that the BSSH has been selected to host the FESSH Congress in Edinburgh in 2030.
We are delighted and deeply honoured by the confidence placed in our bid. We recognise that there were several outstanding proposals, and being entrusted with this opportunity is both humbling and a great privilege. See the bid video here:
On behalf of BSSH, we would like to thank the FESSH Council, member societies, and delegates for their support. Over the next four years, we look forward to working closely with FESSH and all member societies to create a truly European congress that reflects the diversity, excellence, and spirit of our community.
We look forward to welcoming you to Edinburgh in 2030.
