Despite the cancellation of our 2020 Scientific meetings, the BSSH wanted to provide the opportunity for successful authors to present their free papers from the Spring 2020 Meeting. We received some fantastic abstracts and are delighted to share the virtual presentations from both days here.
We are very grateful to have received the below feedback from the free paper competition winners, Ryckie Wade and Amin Kheiran:
Ryckie Wade – Wednesday winner
The BSSH Virtual Conference 2020 was so slick - a truly polished event! I was honoured to share our collaborative works from the University of Leeds, Leeds Teaching Hospitals and others. Moreover, I was delighted to win the best paper prize for our network meta-analysis of preoperative skin antiseptics in clean surgery (available here), which showed that if surgeons switched from aqueous povidone-iodine to alcoholic chlorhexidine then the risk of surgical site infection would (on average) be halved. if you missed it, our BSSH presentation is immortalised here.
Amin Kheiran – Thursday winner
The event was greatly organised, flawless, and amazingly delivered. It was a huge pleasure to present our project on Scaphoid Fracture Non-Union Advanced Collapse, a cohort study from University Hospitals of Leicester. I’m honoured (and still excited) to be one of the winners of best paper presentation. Worlds of thanks BSSH.
Registration is now open for our next meeting in January, we hope you can join us!
