DESCRIPTION:This course is designed for trainees in Hand surgery (Orthopaedics and Plastics) who have little or no experience in K-wiring. Learn the sure and proper way of K- wiring and you will not need to do an ORIF ever again\, saving you operating time and money. This is a hands-on course\, first with dry bones and then with cadaveric hands. Understand and Practice K-wiring without the pressure of time.\n\nTopics covered: \n\n- Technique of k-wiring\n- Complications\n- Understand why k-wires get infected or loose and how to reduce complications.\n- Advantages and disadvantages of K-wiring\n\nEducational methods:\n\n- One day intensive course with a good balance of lectures and practice opportunity.\n- Special k-wiring techniques\n- Practice with dry bones and then cadaveric hands under fluoroscopy\n\n \n\nPlease note: The course fee will include: lunch and refreshments. Payment can be made via BACS (automatic bank transfer) by Debit/ Credit Card. Payment is due at registration to secure your place. Refunds cannot be given in the event of your cancellation within 8 weeks of the course date.\n\nThe NSTC cannot accept liability for costs incurred in the event of a course having to be cancelled as a result of circumstances beyond its reasonable control. However\, within 8 weeks prior to the start date of the course\, the total course fee will be charged unless in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the NSTC.\n\nWhile we make every effort to run courses as advertised\, we reserve the right to change the timetable and/or the teaching staff without prior notice and to cancel any courses without liability (in which case there will be a full refund of course fees to participant).\n\nNote that any consequential losses (e.g. travel or accommodation costs) incurred in such cases remain the responsibility of the booker\, and consideration should be made to taking out appropriate travel insurance for any non-refundable costs.\n\n
