DESCRIPTION:An in depth course on PSI for a range of hand and wrist indications. Surgical experiences presented by several BSSH member consultants. Course includes case discussions\, design/planning process training including live design workshops\, future indications of PSI in hand surgery\, manufacturing facility tour\, open forum discussions with engineers and KOLs regards potential cases and indications. Opportunity to discuss current cases and plan surgeries as a group. All clinical teaching will be provided by experienced NHS consultants.\n\nTarget audience: Consultants  \n\nLearning Outcomes: A greater understanding of pre planning surgery and PSI for a range of complex deformity corrections. In depth training on distal radius corrective osteotomy PSI\, scaphoid PSI solutions and "special plates". Implant design process and production processes will taught including observing the 3D printing of implants. On completion of the course delegates will have a deeper understanding of how PSI can benefit their patients and also the cost and time saving opportunities it can offer. Training will be from surgeons already using PSI regularly and this course will help to educate surgeons with little or no PSI experience. An emphasis will also be put on innovation and encourage interactive discussions regarding the future of PSI and the potential of surgeons to be more in control of their patient outcomes. Delegates will also be able to design and print their own implants!\n\nCosts: £TBC\n\nSovereign Medical are excited to partner with Meshworks to provide UK manufactured PSI implants for upper limb surgeons. We would like to encourage open discussions on implant design and indications and be 100% surgeon led in our PSI service. There is an opportunity here to explore the potential PSI brings\, in particular saving theatre time\, UK manufacturing means we can keep costs low so PSI becomes a financially viable alternative for more indications\n\n
