Membership categories
Members | Members are registered medical practitioners of consultant or equivalent status and permanently established surgeons working in the UK who have given evidence of satisfactory scientific and practical attainments in hand surgery, and practitioners in allied disciplines of medicine who are interested in the hand. The annual subscription fee is £250.00 and Members receive the Journal of Hand Surgery (American volume) and the Journal of Hand Surgery (European volume) as part of their subscription. Overseas Members | Overseas Members are registered medical practitioners of consultant or equivalent status and permanently established surgeons working overseas who have given evidence of satisfactory scientific and practical attainments in hand surgery, and practitioners in allied disciplines of medicine who are interested in the hand. The annual subscription fee is £130.00 and Overseas Members receive the Journal of Hand Surgery (European volume) as part of their subscription. Application form |
Honorary Members | Honorary Members are distinguished surgeons or persons of distinction whose merit is esteemed by the Society. Honorary Members do not pay a subscription fee. They receive the Journal of Hand Surgery (European volume). |
Senior Members | Senior Members are members who have retired from active clinical and medicolegal practice. Senior Members do not pay a subscription fee. |
Associates | Associates are medical practitioners registered in the country in which they practice who are interested in hand surgery. The annual subscription fee is £130.00 and they receive the Journal of Hand Surgery (European volume) as part of their subscription. Associate Members who are in a recognised training post and provide written confirmation of their position are eligible for a £25.00 refund to their subscription fee. Application form |
Companion Members | Companion Members are colleagues from allied non-medical disciplines who have a particular interest in hand surgery. The annual subscription fee is ££30.00. Companion Members may opt for a subscription that includes the Journal of Hand Surgery (European volume), in which case the annual subscription fee is £50.00. Application form |
