The 2016 Workshop decided a multicentre study was needed to compare the treatment of these fractures with non-operative “clinic room” methods and operative fixation.
This workshop is open to all BSSH members and Associates who wish to be involved in the development and delivery of RCTs on the treatment of Hand Fractures and might wish to join a BSSH Hand Fracture Research Group.
The majority of this meeting will devoted to small group discussion and open debate to determine the design of such a study. Delegates are positively encouraged to contribute to the discussions and debate, and all can express their opinions.
There will also be presentations by a faculty of clinicians and experts on preparing research grant applications, and clinical trial design and delivery.
There are limited spaces for surgeons. We want to involve Hand Therapists, so if your therapist would like to come (also free), he/she should also enrol.

The meeting is on the University of Nottingham campus which has good parking and also a direct tram service from the railway station (10 minutes), and the Park and Ride facility close to the M1.
