Course description: Randomised clinical trials use robust methodology to ensure that healthcare interventions, such as surgical and other complex interventions, devices and drugs, are subject to a fair test of their effectiveness. Before designing a clinical trial, it may be necessary to complete preliminary feasibility research to assess whether a clinical trial is needed and to ensure the most appropriate design to address the research question.
Course delivery: Online live talks and Q&A.
Course content: Working with a CTU; defining your research question; feasibility; PPI; NIHR funding programmes. Whatever stage your research idea is at, this half-day course aims to help you chart a pathway to developing a randomised trial, including applying for suitable research funding.
